Just trying to poke holes in the mechanics here, and see what leaks out. This does not seem to resolve any of the class-priority issues. Reading over the complaints Just anticipating some of the complaints 'this is unfair to "However, if a priest, 2 mages and a shaman are all T1 and have to roll for ToEP our system is broken." "Officers could however make decisions that would benefit the guild in rare cases and reward loyalty in others. Loot council would probably only be used on Rag, Ossi, and BWL loots. Even then the officers can choose to just award loot based on points." Saffire: "I don't like the idea of rewarding folks simply because they have more time to play WOW than others and hence have attended more raids (have more dkp points). The tier system allows folks like Mgokkuk, Chakma, and myself to get geared up as well." Here are a few concerns: With a system like this, we are heavily leaning towards members that are full-on wow-addicts. 'This system isn't fair to casual members that can't make every raid.' Part-timers will feel that 100% attendance people are being greedy and denying them the opportunity to get loot. 100% attendance people will feel like part-timers are being greedy by encroaching on their endboss items, etc. 'Wtf seriously, that item is marginal to his class... It should have been mine. >:/' Class/spec issues This system is going to be extra-rife with class/spec arguments and people feeling jilted over things like that. I have been giving this some thought, and I think this is a surefire way to freak people out and cause some drama. Here our our goals: -Respect seniority on items that are rare-upgrades for them. (Big deal items like T2 legs, etc) -Protect the minority, and make sure they feel like they are rewarded for their efforts and not walked on by the 'upper tier'. -Allow raiders to pick up items that help them in non-raid situations. (Feral loot for healing druids, etc.) The current proposed system has some serious flaws in the 'fairness' department, which is going to freak people out, because they are going to dwell on the 'you are in tier 6, you get first crack at everything' clause. What I would propose is this: -We track all raids and drops, uploading modded ct_rt files to the website. -Attendance is tracked per-zone and tiered as previously discussed. 1pt per raid attended with at least 20mins attended and one boss kill (or serious attempt on a boss). -You are assigned a score -Raid leader assigns a lootmaster to handle LC decisions. You may not make LC decisions on items that you are contending for. -Parties interested in a drop send a tell to the lootmaster that they would like the item, and what they would be using it for. I.e. 'I will respec maces, I need this for my feral set, etc' -Lootmaster makes a decision or calls for a roll-off: *class tailoring of the item *attendance in zone *number items recieved in zone (shields and melee weapons count as 2x) IMHO, you should be able to get more than one piece of loot in a run. With the 'one item' rule, it makes it impossible for veterans to pick up
